Denied instant RAL from Hr Block?

I went in to have my taxes done this morning 1/30/2010 at my local H R block...I applied for the instant RAL which I have been approved for every year for the past 8 years..only to be denied this year. I can't figure out whats going on. Only thing I can figure is that I added on another dependant this year but they are telling me that that dosen't make any difference with the loan. Thats its based solely on work history and credit history...Well nothings changed from any of the other years that I have applied and been approved...The lady that prepared mine is telling me that it could be on the card on Monday if I am approved for the 1-2 day RAL but if not then it will be the 8-15 days, after they charged me almost 400.00 to file my taxes..this is ridiculious... I am just sooo aggravated about all this..I have bills that need paid and kids to provide for and we were really counting on this refund... Has anyone else experienced the same problem this year and if so were you approved for the 1-2 days after being denied the instant....Please Help with any info you may have...someone was telling me that they thought that HR block changed to a new bank this year. Anyone know if this is true and could that possibily be the cause for all of this?????

Sorry to hear your going through that, it sucks! You should be able to get your money back and pay for preparation. I paid 18 to get it from 8-15 days but I did mines.

It is the Banks they have denied many people this year.
Horrible but it is true. Call HR Block Mon and let them know
that you paid for the RAL and you did not get approve for it
they are suppose to refund you back the RAL money since
you did not get the RAL. Only for the preparation.

It is the same bank. It is JH that has a new bank but only in 5 states. The rest they cant do RALS. It isnt Blocks fault you were turned down. You will NOT be charged for the RAL. You are applying for a loan. Did you read any of the documents or just sign?

yes im going through the same thing i never been denied but i filed jan 30th and waited 1-2 days nothing happen so i called and they said something with the banks system i think they knew and tried to beat me for my money and i don't think they give you your money back or do they its not our fault what happen with their computers!

Banks lending standards are much higher this year than they were last year. If your credit was border line or your revolving balances have gone up, then you may have missed the standard. Credit is tight even for RALs.

same thing happend to me, I was denied the instan ral but the witch from H&R block told me we would get the money 1-2 days...day 3 comes i call H&R block to be told i was denied and i asked her i said "I ASKED IF WE WOULD GET THE MONEY 1-2 DAYS YOU SAID YOU NEVER HAD ANY COMPLAINTS" and shes like " you knew it was a loan" yea that witch. This is my first and LAST TIME EVER going to H&R block...giving them 400 bucks, i hope they go out of business. Lying to get customers.

well this is what i experience first of all yes i was denied the instant and yes i was denied the 1 to 2 day. and that was a shock to me as well cause im use to getting my money up front every year with no hassles. i now have to wait the 8 to 15 days like you as well. and no they did not change banks they are still with HSBC. there number is 1-888-832-5625 this is the number i had to call to find out why i was denied. and I advise you to speak with someone because the automated is only giving you basic info.
