Does a CNA get paid enough for such hard work?
Ive always been a hard worker and don't like to cut corners. Ive been really interested about taking a class at college to become a cna. Ive been looking online and reading how hard a job it is and how some cna's only make 10.50 an hour. but im thinking why go to school and do a tough job for such little money? Do all cna's make little money or does it depend?
All I want to know is is going to school and doing the job going to be worth it in the end?
Also I know its tough work and I have no problem with that. My mother and I were by my grandmothers side as she was dying and I know I would be perfect for the job because Im not going to get sick from cleaning an old person or changing their diaper. I just know that some retirement homes have corrupt workers who either beat the patients or are rough with them and I figure why not get the job to help them be comfortable, but safe.

you have great intentions but YES this is a low paying job seldom much over minimum wage for new CNAs........
it is the hardest, most under-appreciated, underpaid job that you can do........it is also the MOST REWARDING.
going to college to be a CNA is a waste of time and money.
there are numerous nursing homes that provide the training and pay for the testing to become a CNA.
check into this route before you consider paying to go to a school.
if you can do this job (CNA) then you can move on with your education and go into nursing. becoming a CNA is kinda of like boot camp for nursing, it is not required but it does give you a realistic idea about what patient/resident care is all about.
you can become an LPN in a year (depends on the school and prerequisites for their program) or
an RN in as little as two years (associates degree and depends on the school and prerequisites for their program).
