HELP HELP HELP? Am i disqualified from getting this job?

I got a really great job but they require a background check and I have bad credit sisnce I havent been working I couldnt afford to pay credit card bills, am I disqualified?

It all depends on the type of position and company you are working for and whether or not you are handling what they consider sensitive, valuable, and financial data. If so then it could be a problem otherwise I wouldn't worry about it unless they ask you to explain then tell them the truth and that you are addressing the problem. If you are handling money or financial data the best thing to do if you ae comfortable with speaking to the person who hired you is ask what kind of background check are they going to be doing? Based on bad credit alone, no. You really need to provide more information if you want a complete answer.

I had two interviews for a law firm nearly 7 years ago and did not get the job despite how they liked me. I felt it was my credit. However they never asked me about my credit in the beginning and although they do credit checks, never tell a company about your credit.

I would suggest that you speak with your creditors about your situation and negotiate and tell them that you are seeking work and hopefully the can understand and that you will pay them once you have work.
