How do I get out of my lease?

I rented a house 8 months ago. I rented it sight unseen because I was living in another state. I was told when I got her there would be new carpeting, which there was not. Since, there was electrical problems. There was only electric in one room. It took the landlord 6 tries and 1 mo to fix it. Theres trees growing in my fireplace, a rat living in my bathroom, two holes in the floor in my daughters room, black widows all over, and a water bill that I have to pay every month that is in his name and he refuses to send me a copy. I have to drive 30 miles every mo to go pick up the bill in his name because I cant get the bill in my name because he has a bad debt. Its just awful and he owns lots of properties. I am sure he knows the law better than I do. What can I do? I'm miserable. Thanks

yes, sounds like you got taken advantage of...what is the term of your lease?..if 12 months, you only have 4 months to go..start looking for a new place and chalk this up to never leasing again until you have viewed the place.
