How long for my Walmart background check to get back?
Okay so I got a job as a Courtesy Associate in Southern California last wednesday pending a drug screen and background check. Well I got the drug screen done the same day, and I have heard background checks take a few days, sometimes slightly longer. I am starting to worry because I haven't heard yet. I just called the store and they said they are still waiting for the results. Anybody have advice or tips?

If you have a common name it usually takes longer for the background check to complete (they likely found criminal records with your name on them, but have to verify that it's a different person with the same first and last name). Also some parts of southern California take longer than others.
My advice is just to wait it out. If you have something in your background that Walmart doesn't like, they are required by federal law to allow you to dispute that record prior to declining the job. If they already decided to spend the money on the drug test, chances are you have the job.
