What can I do to make my 2000 dollars make me money?

I have 2000 dollars. I want to make money out of the 2000 dollars, not letting inflation kill it. What do you suggest to make itself increase in value?

Invest it in some kind of equipment you can use to earn more - a really good lawnmower if you plan to mow lawns, DJ equipment if you could work as a DJ, etc. You can earn some money in many lines of business - all you need are the correct tools, and then take all the work you can get.

That is not very much. You can invest it in I-bonds or a savings account. The I-bonds will keep up with inflation. The savings account probably won't.

If you are good with cars, I would buy two or three $500+ cars from Craigslist.org and fix them up a little,clean them up, and sell them back on craigslist for $2k each.
