job interview question?

job interview question?

Job interview question?
I was asked in an interview if I discovered a mistake I made and the report, letter, etc went out, how would I go about correcting it and would I tell my supervisor about it?

I said that it would depend on the mistake, like if it was a cosmectic one, I would let it go, but if it were a more serious one like a wrong court date, I would immediately bring it to my supervisor's attention and see how he/she thinks I should proceed to correct it. Was this a good answer?

That sounds great!
If that question gets asked to you again, I would say that along with asking your supervisor how they think the mistake should be handled, that you would bring your ideas on how to handle it to the supervisor and together you would come up with a plan.
It gets you involved in the decision making and doesn't leave it up to the supervisor.

I think it was a good answer. If it was just a cosmetic and has already gone out, not much you can do about it really. I think it would be pointless to bring attention to it. Now if it were like a wrong court date or something like this, then yes it needs correcting.

That sounds excellent! I would've said something like, "I would've used my problem solving skills to try to resolve the problem. If I was unable to, I would have gone to my supervisor for further assistance."

I think that is a GREAT answer! I don't think I would have come up with something that good. Very good answer.
